This is sasthram cause Mahabharatham is a sasthram

Now we can realise that acharya samandham is very important
One can see bhagavan even with a possession of mooda bhakthi, But gnyanam can be achieved only with the help of an Acharyan.

The meaning of word Guru is Gu means agnyanam Ru means removing it.
So the Guru or acharayan removes the Agnyanam and provides a great gnyanam of bhagavad vishayams.

Acharyan is the one who reads all the sastras, this is only for enlightening the agnyanis.
Apart from reading he also follows the anushtanams with his gnyanam.
Cause swami Manavala Mamunigal said " Gnyanam and anushtanams both are very important"

So an acharyan practices himself with gnyanam and anustanam and enlightens it to his sishyas.
Acharyan can enlighten any kind of people with out having bhagavad gnyanam.

This is the quality of a acharyan, this was said by Madhurakaviaazhwar in kaninun siruthaambu

"Payananagilum panngallarginum seyal nanaga thiruthi pani kolvan"

So Acharya samandham is very much important to any one who needs moksham and good bhagavad gnyanam.

I pray perarulalan for acharya samandham all the time,
I believe that I will get acharya samandham with the blessings of Varadaraja Perumal.

I also request the readers, to go thorugh the comments included by Mr. Satakopan in my previous postings.

Hare Rama Hare Rama
Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna
Krishna Krishna Hare Hare

Adiyen
Perarulala Dasan

Sri Nyasa Dasakam - An Introduction

Sri :
Sri Mathe Ramanujaaya Namaha

This stothram comprises of 10 slokas with regards to Prapatti (Nyaasam - Prapatti,
Dasakam - Comprising 10 slokas).

In this stothram, swamy desikan describes about various methods of performing prapatti. This sacred grantham was composed by swami desikan during the occasion of his performance of prapatthi at the lotus feet of sri varadarajan (perarulalan) of kanchipuram .

The ten slokams comprising this sthothram covers the following topics:

1. the method of performing charanaagathi
2. the five limbs of charanaagathi
3. the method of performing saatvika thyagam
4. prayer for the boon (varam) of moksham from the king of boon giver
(varadaraajan)
5. another prayer for the boon of kainkaryam during the rest of the life after
prapatthi
6. a moving appeal to forgive the trespasses, sins committed knowingly or
unknowingly after prapatthi.

I will try to post the slokas with meanings by next week.

Adiyaen Veerapuram Satakopa Daasan

The Milestone and the importance of sadh sangam

Helo Every One!!

I'm Considering myself as a good bhagyavan!!
The hit# 108 goes with my hands to this blog.
Thats a wonderful one and I thank Mr.Raghuraman for adding the hitlist on our blog.

I pray to perarulalan everyday for keeping this sribashyam up with great bhagavad vishayams!!
And those bhagavad vishayams should reach ppls mind timely and accurately...
I request every one of you to come up with a good initiatives to build Sribashyam...

I want Sribashyam to act as a good sadh sangam to every one who hits this page..
Good sadh sandgam is very important to bring prosperity in the life of all..

For example perumal did not give anything to Raja Sugrivan but he has been blessed by him with good sadh sangam called hanuman, Which enabled him to gain rajyam and all other wealths. But Ravana has got all the wealths, rajyam, spouse and children.. But did not have a good sadh sangam to discuss about bhagavadh vishayam. Obviously he lost his rajyam and all his wealths.

Lets all pray to perumal for good sadh sangam!!

Sadh Sangam is a great wealth than any other thing in the life..
Perarulalan has blessed me with a great sadh sangam and I thank him every day for this.

Adiyen
Perarulala Dasan

Chakravarthy Thirumagan!!

All of us know that every one has their own duties and responsibility!!
Mr.Satakopan said the five duties of an iyengar after samashrayanam, Thats why we are proudly known as Iyengar. Meaning 5 karyangal udaiyar..

Well all the yuga's has their own way of making god happy,
Each and every yugam has its own dharmam,

In kritha yugam Dhyanam
In Tretha Yugam Yagam
In Dwapara Yugam Poojai
In Kali Yugam Nama Sankeerthanam

The reward you get out of Dhyanam,Yagam and poojai u can attain by doing Rama Nama keerthanam. Esepcially in kaliyugam is like a papa payonidhi.. Ppl loose there quality to do all the dharmams. In Kaliyugam there is no bhakthi, Sarira sudhi, Mana sudhi.
One needs lots of niyamam to perform all other dharmams to get the fruitness of the dharamam performed. Rama nama keerthanam does not require any niyamam like desam, Kalam, Manasudhi,Sarira sudhi... One can tell the rama namam any where at anytime and with all impurities.. Sri Rama Namam has got the great power of purifying ones own sins.

Sri Rama namam has all the power of bringing one a great reward of all the wealth.
But all other dhramams has also got more powers, but in kaliyugam people loose their "yogyadhai" to perform the dharmams. On the other hand people get more yogyathai to do nama sankeerthanam. One can think about what yogyathai has increased with the people in kaliyugham, we (sorry to use "we" here "they") would have done all the dharmams in all the yugams like dhyanam, yagam and poojai. The benfit of all these dharmam is bhakthi with perumal. So with the benfits that u did in the previous births your yogyathai has increased to do nama sankeerthanam.

This was sung by kothai in thirupavai:

"Yethaikum yezhuyezh piravikum unthanodu uthume yavum
unakenamathcheivom"

In Kaliyugham the best way to make perumal happy is to do Rama Nama Sankeerthanam.
Rama Bhakthi is like a kalpaga vriksham.. And yields the most valuable things one can never attain in his life..

Sri Vedanthan desikar said this in padhuka sahasram

"Aapatham Apahartharam Dhatharam Sarva Sampatham
Lokabiramam Sri Ramam buyo buyo namamyaham"

Meaning---(Aapattham Apahartharam) Lord rama removes all the fears and gives all the wealths to one who does rama nama sankeerthanam.
(lokabhiramam) Abhiramamana Ghunam udaiya ramanuku bhuyo bhuyo namayaham..
Bhuyo Bhuyo in all the janmas.

If you think of all the gods you get bhakthi, But if you do Rama Nama Keerthanam your heart will melt of love towards Sri Rama.

I guess one can do Rama Nama keerthanam in kali yugham with out any obstacles.
And I want every one to be happy after reciting the great Rama Namam.

Please do correct me if any of the slokas has went wrong.

Adiyen
Perarulala Dasan

Srivaishnavan and Samashrayanam

Sri :
Sri Mathe Ramanujayaa Namaha :

Samashrayanam

It is a process for approaching the achaaryaa with all sincerity. During SamAshrayanam, Pancha SamskAram (five Purifications) is performed and hence the person becomes a "Sri Vaishnavan".

The five purifications and its main purposes are:

1. thapam:

To emboss the impressions of heated Sankha and ChakrA on the arms (near the shoulders).

2. pundram:

To wear the dvAdasa Urdhva pundram (12 Thiruman & Srichoornam)

3. namam:

To indicate that one is forever a servant of the Supreme Lord Sriman NArAyanA and Sri Bhagavath Ramanuja.

4. manthram:

To get the initiation of Ashtaksharam, Dvayam and charama slokam. At times, during some hard phases of life there is no one to help or support us. During such situations, Sriman Narayanan is the only one who saves and supports us. This wealth (Sriman Narayanan) is everywhere. Therefore, wherever they go, they get whatever they need. We can take the real examples for the above statements from the life of some of our great acharyas.

Koorathaazhwaan

Koorathhazhwaan is a great scholar and he was the one of the prime disciple of Sri Bhagawad Ramanuja. During his period saivism got an upper hand over all the other sects. Because, Almost all the parts of tamil nadu belonged to the cholas.

There was a king named "Kulothunga Cholan" (Krimi Kanda Cholan) was ruling the chola naadu. He was a religious fanatic. He followed the saivism. He heard about Sri Bhagawad Ramanuja through his ministers. He also thought, if Sri Bhagawad Ramanuja agrees that Lord Siva is the prime god, then all the other vaishnavites will accept.

So, he sent a script in oolai chuvadi saying

"sivaath paratharam naasthi"

Meaning

nothing is beyond/greater than Siva

During that time Sri Bhagwad Ramanuja was at Hoysala Kingdom. Koorathaazhwaan and Periyanambi was there at Sri Rangam. The Servants sent by the king showed the script. On seeing this, koorathaazhwan wrote after the scipt like the following,

"Dronamasthi thatha param"

Meaning

There are more things that are beyond/greater than Siva

* In Sanskrit, the Sivam denotes Quantity also.

On seeing this, the king ordered koorathaazhwaan to come to his court. He asked Koorathaazhwaan to sign by agreeing that Lord Siva is the Prime God. The king also added, if koorathaazhwaan is not signing then he will make him as blind. Hearing this, Koorathazhwaan told the king to make him as blind rather than signing. The king made Koorathaazhwaan blind.

Swamy Vedantha Desikan

As every body know, Swamy Vedantha Deiskan is a very good scholar in sanskrit, tamil, ..... He was not having any wealth (money). He used to get his daily food by doing Bikshai (A srivaishnavan should do this to get his daily food). He doesn't wanted to get money or higher position in the society by showing his talents/skills to any king or any rich persons.

One of his friend named Vidhyaranya (he was working in the ministry of Krishna Deva Raya) heard about the condition of Swamy Vedantha Desikan. Immediately, he sent a Palanquin and some servants to the Swamy Vedantha Desika's place and asked him to come to Vijayanagar.

But, Swamy vedantha desika composed Vairakhya Panchagam with five slokas, placed that sri kosham in the palanquin and send that to Vidhyaranya. Each and every sloka in that sri kosham talks about the vairakhyam of a srivaishnavan.

In the last sloka Swamy Vedantha Desikan described Lord Varadarajaa as his only true wealth in his manuscript "Vairaagya Panchagam". The sloka is as follows:-

"Naasthi pithraarjitham kimchith
Na mayaa kimchidhaarjitham
asthi mE hasthishailaaghrE vasthu
paithaamaham dHanam"

Meaning:-

"I do not presume the wealth saved by my father
I have not earned anything for myself
But my grandfather had presumed a wealth
For me which is Asthigiri"

* paithaamaham dHanam = property given by the grand father

In the above sloka, Swami Nikhamaantha Mahaa Desikan describes 'Brahma' as his grandfather and 'Lord Varadarajan' as his wealth.

Oh, What devotion, What a Vairakhyam, we must also have the same devotion and confidence with sriman Narayanan.

Adiyaen Veerapuram Satakopa Daasan

More Pics of Mamunigal's Saathumarai

Qualities for Sri Vaishnavan

Sri:

Sri Mathe Ramanujaya Namaha

Qualities for Sri Vaishnavan (as per the religious scriptures)

1. Sri Vaishnavan has to accept sriman Narayanan as his soul refuge.

2. Be confident that due to acharya and bhagavat krupai we will surely attain moksha. Swami Namm Alwar says vaikundam puguvadu mannavar vidhiyemaranamAnal vaikundam tarum perumal A srivaishnava should have a great confidence in the above words.

3. Sri Vaishnavan should realise that all the worldly things are temporary and that only bhagavat kainkaryam is permanent.so we should have a urge in our minds to attain the thiruvadi of bhagavan as soon as possible getting away from this samsaric world.

4. The most important thing a Srivaishnava should do is respect the Srivaishnava. He should stay in the satsangam of such Srivaishnavas.

5 Sri Vaishnavan should have a strong devotion towards his acharya.

6. Sri Vaishnavan should be grateful towards sriman narayanan and his acharya who has imparted the divine knowledge to him and thereby washing his sins have made him a clear soul.

7. Sri Vaishnavan should always stay in the company of a Srivaishnava who is filled with jnanam(knowledge),vairAkhyam(detachment to anything other than bhagavan and bhagavat vishayam) and shanthi(peace).

If we are not able to follow the above. We can try following the below things.

Qualities for Sri Vaishnavan (In modern world)

1. Srivaishnavan should not hurt others with his words/actions.

2. He should try to avoid losing his temper. Whatever happens, is for the good. It is Sriman Narayanan's play.

3. If we get some money/wealth unexpectedly, let us fell elated about his mercy/grace on us and feel his presence again.

4. If we have studied scriptures/vedhas, we should not think ourselves high and boast. Nor we shall look down the baagavadhaas who did not have an opportunity do so for various reasons/commitments.

5. We should have mercy on all beings (including insects). We shouldnever abuse living things. We should always have at the back of our minds that sriman Naaraanan exists in everyone and everything.

6. We should always eat food that only induces the satva guna in ourself.Think good; Do good; Hear good;

7. We shall never feel Jeleous of our fellow beings for their success nor feel thrilled about someone's failures.

Adiyaen Veerapuram Satakopa Daasan

Sri Vaishnavan

Sri :
Sri Mathe Ramanujaaya Namaha :

The blog will convey the philosophies of great acharyas in a simple form, so that the message will reach the others easily.

First of all, we must have accumulated lot of punyams and be greatly blessed by
acharyas and divya dhampathis for us to be sri vaishnavas. For the sri vaishnava's, Sriman Narayanan is the God.

He(Sriman Narayanan) himself is conveying this to thirukkachi nambi as "Aham Yevam Param Thatvam" meaning "I am the only Almighty (Paramporul)".
